Owner's Resources

In the Rocky Mountain Region, it is extremely important to our community that our owners have access to the right knowledge and resources to procure and lead successful Design Build projects. We are fortunate to have great partners, like the University of Colorado Boulder, who developed a project delivery selection matrix tool to help you determine if Design Build is the right method for you and leading researchers, like Keith R. Molenaar, that have studied and extrapolated what makes a great project! Through the combined resources of DBIA national and the regional support of education by this chapter, we hope you find what you need to continually improve your projects.

* DBIA’s Owner Hotline is an educational tool designed to inform owners on key aspects of design-build, to provide guidance on additional sources of information and to help connect owners. The DBIA Owner Hotline is staffed by experienced professionals with extensive background and knowledge in design-build, from both the owner and practitioner perspectives. The Owner Hotline is not intended as a replacement for consulting or legal services.

Water/Wastewater Project Delivery Selection Matrix Tool  The Design Build Institute of America Rocky Mountain Region (DBIA RMR) Water/Wastewater (Committee) found a growing need to identify which project delivery method could be used on water and wastewater construction projects. Each owner and project is unique and there is no one-size-fits-all delivery method. The goal of the Committee was to develop a tool, the project delivery selection matrix (PDSM) for owners to use when selecting a delivery method. The outcome of the PDSM is an objective project delivery selection report that documents this key decision and communicates it to the project stakeholders.
